More trip prep

Check out my two motorcycles.....First up: MY BABY! I call it my "HEADLONG-Bonny" or sometimes I call it "MY WICKED QUICK-Bonny" or sometimes I call it "BAD-ASS". Dan gave me this for my 50th birthday and had "headlong" written on the back fender. He says I'm headed headlong into my next 50 years. I love this bike!!! Tarran from Wicked Quick helped Dan to design it. Thanks, Tarran!
My road bike is a Victory Vegas Low. I bought it in Vegas when my Honda Rebel blew the clutch after 5 weeks of following Dan's Triumph around the Rocky Mountains. I love my Victory, too, and it holds a LOT more "luggage" than Headlong does.
Thanks to the guys at MotorCorsa in Portland for letting us sit on the Ducati's and try on all the Dainese clothes!

clock ticking

The next few days have us doing more preparation for our trip in the form of .......vlogging education!! This is how ignorant I am!....I didn't even know blogging with videos is called VLOGGING. (can I get away with this word in scrabble, ya think?)
Anyway, the flip camera that the Glenn Beck program kindly sent us downloads into my mac ONLY into a program called FlipShare. But to edit it, I think I have to transfer it into the iMovie program (not easy....the only way I could get 'er done was to put it onto the desktop and then import it). Editing is all new to me.....I'm working on it.......and is a very important aspect of the whole process because, well, I get tongue tied alot. Dan is much more articulate than I am. Then there is the problem of downsizing the whole video to fit onto this blogspot site.
I have some lessons lined up this week. But the clock is ticking. Meantime, let's give this video attachment a whirl.

Revival in SLC

This weekend Dan and I flew the goose down to Salt Lake City to the Glenn Beck "AMERICAN REVIVAL" show. It was a great way for us to get "revved up" for our motorcycle adventure next month. It was an amazing show, and inspired us to get more involved in helping to wake up America to what is happening to our republic. It also inspired us to get more in touch with our God and more educated on our founding fathers and our founding principles. Judge Andrew Napolitano spoke at the event and I just want to say, HOW CAN WE GET THAT GUY TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT??? He would be awesome!

ok, I can tell you are wondering about that photo with the satellite dish next to the tent. Here's the story: We were riding fast down hwy 278 toward Dillon, Montana because I didn't want to miss the football game. Our daughter, Jensen, was a freshman at USC, and during orientation that summer they had taken the parents aside and indoctrinated us into the "TROJAN FAMILY" (Fight on!) and I wasn't about to miss the first game of the season. (Dan had skipped orientation so had missed the indoctrination. Therefore, he was not really understanding of my devotion to the team.)
We realized we would not make it to town in time. It was getting dark and cold. So we pulled off the road at Bannok State Park and wound our way through some hilly country, (seemingly the middle of no where) and Dan being in the lead spoke into his blue-tooth mike and said, "You're not gonna believe your eyes......" I rounded the corner into the campground and there were trucks and campers and motorcycles and people afoot EVERYWHERE. There were two large campgrounds and every available space was taken. I was dejected and COLD and TIRED! They were just about to close the campground "welcome" station and we asked the fellow, "what the heck is going on here?" He replied that it was the annual meeting of the Masons. (apparently a HUGE Montana chapter!) We asked, "is there anywhere that we can pitch a small tent?" And he kindly replied, "sure.....I'm the camp host and my wife and I would be happy to share our yard!" He even invited me into his fifth-wheeler to watch the game.
You've gotta love Montana hospitality!
If you're ever near Bannok State Park, take the 7 mile detour off of hwy 278! It is well worth it. It was the original capital of the territory in Montana and there is a small ghost town still standing and a very kind campground host.

The HONOR RALLY RIDE!

This summer marks Ann and Dan's Adventure #4 ( perhaps we'll get back to the other adventures along the way......)
THE HONOR RALLY RIDE......Follow us as we ride from Portland, Oregon to Washington, D.C. in August to attend the Restoring Honor Rally on the Washington Mall. Like-minded Americans will gather at the steps of the Lincoln memorial on 8-28-2010 to pay tribute to our military and remember our nation's founding principles of honor, integrity and truth.
